PCLinuxOS

Welcome To The Madhouse!

Smith's Grove Sanitarium has been around since 1998. Here you can find the best prices on hand made, independent, collector quality Halloween masks and props. We make every product we sell. We have an extensive how-to library on special effects topics, including how to make your own Halloween masks. Our yearly Halloween yard haunt is a huge success, and grows by leaps and bounds each year. We have videos here (viewable online), downloadable videos and pix of our yard haunts here on the site. We've also dabbled in amateur movie making for a while, and plan to keep doing so in the near future. The online videos from those days are here, and the downloadable versions are here.

Visit our online store for masks and props. And if you're looking for information on how to make a mask, a mold, etc., visit our library.

How to make a mask
We have a large library of FX and Halloween how-to's and tutorials, primarily aimed at the beginner. So if you are looking for a tutorial, but not sure what it is, below are some suggestions to help get you started. And if you can't find what you're looking for, let me know, and I'll add it!

If you are interested in learning how to make a latex Halloween mask, view this tutorial.

Would you like to learn how to make a nearly fully posable dummy for Halloween? Then look at this.

Wanna make a hockey mask? A Star Wars helmet? Or anything fiberglass? Then start here.

Trying to make a stone copy of your ugly mug, or some other bodily appendage? There are 2 choices of tutorials to look at for this topic. One showing the use of alginate, and the other using flexwax.

If you still can't find what you are looking for, then browse the library, until you find it. We have many more to check out. If that fails, stop by The Slab, and ask there. We'll get you started one way or the other!

And as always, The Warden is always available to answer questions!
